Four-way stop sign coming to Rhode Island and Leavitt intersection beginning April 12

The intersection of Rhode Island Ave and Leavitt Ave will be converted from a two-way stop to a four-way stop to address safety concerns until a permanent improvement is selected and constructed.

Advanced warning signs will be placed before the intersection to give drivers notice about the upcoming new four-way stop. Beginning next week, the City will be staging two electronic signs to notify drivers of the upcoming four-way intersection. On Monday, April 12, LED stop signs, rumble strips, and stop bars will be installed on Rhode Island Ave.  The electronic signs will remain in place for another 30 days after installation to assure drivers are aware of the new four-way stop intersection.

Any questions may be directed to the City of Orange City Public Works Department at (386) 775-5439.
