POSITION: Water Plant Superintendent

The City of Orange City is seeking a skilled candidate to lead the operations of our water treatment facilities. The Water Plant Superintendent is responsible for the administrative, operational, and maintenance duties associated with the City’s domestic drinking water treatment facilities and supervision of treatment personnel. The City is looking for a candidate with at least five years’ prior experience in water treatment operations, including supervisory experience. Candidate must possess a State of Florida Drinking Water Treatment Plant Operator License, Class B or higher. A high school diploma or GED is required, continued education in related natural science or engineering is desired.
Other job functionality includes:

  • Oversee treatment routines to meet quality of production and treatment standards
  • Prepares all required reports and sampling for compliance
  • Responsible for compliance with City’s Emergency Response Plan related to water treatment facilities, including day-to-day operations

HIRING RANGE: $23.65 to $37.14 per hour, depending on qualifications
POSITION SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 7AM – 4PM; this position requires on-call hours and ability to respond in emergency situations
