Planning Commission

The Planning Commission consists of seven members, who shall be residents of Orange City and appointed by the City Council.  The City Council members shall nominate a citizen to represent the Planning Commission whose seat number and term coincides with that of the City Council member.

This advisory board is quasi-judicial and has final action authority on variances and conditional uses under 5 acres in size.  The Commission recommends to the City Council on conditional uses more than 5 acres in size, rezonings, changes to various ordinances, various site plans and subdivisions, and comprehensive plan amendments.

The Planning Commission meetings are typically held on the first Wednesday of each month beginning at 6 p.m.  Unless otherwise noted, meetings will take place in the City Council chambers located at 201 North Holly Avenue, Orange City, FL 32763.  For more information, please contact the Development Services Department at (386)775-5415.
